Collaborative Street Art Mural with Esty ODV at Capstone Ivry
Both of us have been greatly inspired by the work of Alfons Mucha, though for different reasons, which allowed us to perfectly complement each other during the creation of this wall. Esty brought his unique mastery of full and flowing curves, which added a dynamic and graceful touch to the cyberpunk-inspired Mucha-style characters I painted.
Our distinct artistic approaches merged seamlessly, resulting in a mural that blends classical Art Nouveau elements with futuristic, technological motifs. It was an inspiring experience, and the final artwork reflects the harmonious balance between organic and mechanical.
This collaborative mural represents the meeting of two artistic universes united by a shared admiration for the work of Alfons Mucha. While our approaches differ in execution and visual language, they converge around a common interest in organic forms, flowing compositions and expressive line work.
The project was created in Ivry as part of an initiative organized by Capstone, providing an opportunity to develop a large-scale mural that combines influences from contemporary street art, Art Nouveau and futuristic visual culture. The wall became a space for experimentation where two complementary artistic visions could interact within a single composition.
One of the defining aspects of the mural is the dialogue between organic and mechanical elements. This contrast is a recurring theme in my work and is particularly visible in the cyberpunk-inspired characters represented on the wall. These figures combine human features with technological references, creating hybrid forms situated between contemporary reality and speculative futures.
Esty ODV contributed a distinctive visual language characterized by fluid curves and elegant movement. His approach introduces rhythm and continuity throughout the composition, helping to unify the different elements of the mural. The flowing structures interact naturally with the characters, creating visual connections across the entire surface.
The influence of Alfons Mucha can be seen throughout the artwork, not as a direct reproduction of his style but as a contemporary reinterpretation. The mural borrows principles associated with Art Nouveau, including decorative line work, dynamic silhouettes and the integration of figures within larger ornamental structures. These historical references are then combined with modern graphic influences and technological motifs.
This balance between past and future plays an important role in the identity of the mural. Classical aesthetics coexist with cyberpunk references, allowing the work to explore themes related to transformation, technology and the evolution of visual culture. The result is neither purely historical nor entirely futuristic, but rather a fusion of both perspectives.
Collaboration itself was a central aspect of the project. Unlike individual mural productions, this wall was developed through a constant exchange of ideas, forms and visual solutions. Each artist contributed their own strengths while adapting to the other’s creative language. This process allowed the mural to evolve organically throughout its creation.
The location in Ivry also contributes to the significance of the artwork. As part of a contemporary urban environment, the mural introduces visual elements that encourage viewers to look more closely at the relationship between decorative traditions and modern artistic practices. The work demonstrates how historical influences can remain relevant within contemporary street art.
By combining Art Nouveau inspiration, cyberpunk aesthetics and collaborative creation, the mural reflects a dialogue between different artistic generations and visual cultures. The project highlights the possibilities that emerge when distinct artistic identities come together to create a shared work.
The final mural stands as a testament to collaboration, experimentation and mutual influence. Through the combination of flowing organic forms, technological references and large-scale urban painting, Esty ODV and Alex Kanos created a work that celebrates both artistic heritage and contemporary creativity.
